The City of Los Angeles’ Bureau of Contract Administration has created the Los Angeles Minimum Wage notice. This new notice reflects the new minimum wage rates and their corresponding effective dates from July 1, 2016 to July 1, 2020.
Paid Sick Leave:
The City of Los Angeles’ Bureau of Contract Administration has created the Los Angeles Paid Sick Leave notice. The new notice, which is to be posted by all employers operating a business within the city limits of Los Angeles, explains that employers with 26 or more employees must provide workers with one (1) hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked or 48 hours at the beginning of each year of employment. Beginning on the 19th day of employment, employees may begin to use accrued paid sick time and may also use up to 48 hours of paid sick leave within 1 year. Additionally, workers can roll over up to 72 hours of unused accrued paid sick time from one year to the next.
