Changes to Wyoming’s Unemployment Insurance and Workers Rights Notices

Workers Rights (Mandatory)

The Wyoming Workforce Services has released the Wyoming Workers Rights notice. The new notice describes the requirement of Wyoming employers to post labor laws in a conspicuous location accessible to all employees.

Unemployment Insurance (Recommended)

The Wyoming Workforce Services has updated the Wyoming Unemployment Insurance notice with a new format.

Effective Date for Both Notices: 8/26/2016

Mandatory Change to Wyoming’s Health and Safety Protection on the Job Notice

Health and Safety Protection on the Job

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services has updated the Health and Safety Protection on the Job notice. Penalties for serious violations and optional penalties for non-serious violations are now $12,471. Additionally, any employer who willfully and knowingly violates the Wyoming Occupational Health and Safety Act, upon conviction, is to be assessed penalties of not more than $124,709 for each violation. Lastly, employers must post OSHA citations at or near the place of the alleged violations for a minimum of 3 days or until all citations are abated.

Mandatory Change to Wyoming’s OSHA Notice

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services has updated their Occupational Safety and Health notice. Two new sections regarding Workers’ Rights and Employer’s Responsibilities have been added to the notice. The two sections list what is required and expected for both the Employer and the Worker in regards to OSHA’s new safety regulations.
