Mandatory Earned Income Credit Notice – Louisiana

The Louisiana Workforce Commission has updated the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) notice. Earned Income and adjusted gross income (AGI) must each be less than $48,340 ($53,930 married filing jointly) with three or more qualifying children, $44,007 ($50,597 married filing jointly) with two qualifying children, $39,617 ($45,207 married filing jointly) with one qualifying child or $15,010 ($20,600 married filing jointly) with no qualifying children. The new revision date for the notice is 03/2017.

Mandatory Change to Louisiana’s Earned Income Credit Notice

The Louisiana Workforce Commission updated the Earned Income Credit notice. Eligibility requirements have changed. The maximum earned income limit has increased to $47,955 ($53,505 married filing jointly) with three or more qualifying children, $44,648 ($50,198 married filing jointly) with two qualifying children, $39,296 ($44,846 married filing jointly) with one qualifying child, and $14,880 ($20,430 married filing jointly) with no qualifying children. Additionally, the IRS EITC homepage URL has been updated along with the notice’s revision date.

Effective date: 2/1/2016

Louisiana Workforce Updates their Earned Income Credit Posting

AS of January 2014, the Louisiana Workforce Commission has  updated their Earned Income Credit posting. To change states that if an employee makes $47,000 or less per year, an employer should notify the employee at the time of hire, of the potential availability of Earned Income Tax credits. The new 2014 income limits for eligibility  are $46,997 ($52,427 for married and filing jointly), with 3 or more qualifying children, $43,756 ($49,186 for married filing jointly), $38,511 ($43,941 for married, filing jointly) with one qualifying child, $14,590 ($20,020 for married, filing jointly) with no qualifying children.  Additionally, a new revision date has been added to the posting.

Louisiana Update on Earned Income Poster- New LA Labor Law Poster Required

Louisiana Labor Law PosterThe Louisiana Earned Income Credit poster has had a mandatory change to the 2013 income limits for earned income tax credit.

The language regarding this posting states,

“Based on the recent IRS ruling, if an individual makes $46,000 or less, an employer should notify you at the time of hiring of the potential availability of Earned Income Tax Credits if you meet the 2013 income limits for eligibility. Poster contains the details for eligibility”

This posting is effective as of February 2013.
