Mandatory Change to Indiana’s Teen Work Hour Restrictions
The Indiana Department of Labor Bureau of Child Labor has updated their Child Labor posting. Sixteen year-olds can now work until 11:00 p.m. on nights followed by a school day with parental permission. Seventeen year-olds no longer have a restricted end time on days not followed by a school day. Documentation for sixteen and seventeen year-olds who have graduated or withdrawn from high school that work unlimited hours must have proper documentation of this eligibility in their personnel files. Lastly, the posting reflects a new format, a fax number for the Bureau of Child Labor and the addition of the Indiana Seal and the Indiana Department of Labor logo.
