Mandatory Wisconsin Unemployment Benefit Notice Revised

The State of Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development has updated their Unemployment Insurance Benefits notice. The notice has an updated format and now states that claims for unemployment insurance must be filed online ONLY with hours when to apply. The information to have ready when filing has also been revised to include new documentation and requirements in addition to updated contact information. The revision date for this notice is 5/12/2017.

Mandatory Missouri Workers’ Compensation Benefits Updated

The Missouri Division of Workers’ Compensation has released a mandatory change including additional benefits if it is shown that an employee is permanently, totally disabled and/or has died due to one or more occupational disease due to toxic exposure, which are defined as: mesothelioma, asbestosis, berylliosis, coal worker’s pneumoconiosis, bronchiolitis, obliterans, silicosis, silicotuberculosis, manganism, acute myelogenous leukemia, and myelodysplastic syndrome. In addition, the Fraud/Compliance felonies have been reclassified and the notice includes updated TDD/TTY contact information. The revision date for this notice is 5/10/2017.

Mandatory Discrimination Update in Michigan

The Michigan Department of Civil Rights has updated the Discrimination Notice to now include that persons with disabilities needing accommodations for employment must notify their employers in writing within 182 days, in addition to a revision date of 2/2017.

Mandatory Earned Income Credit Notice – Louisiana

  • 30th March 2017

The Louisiana Workforce Commission has updated the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) notice. Earned Income and adjusted gross income (AGI) must each be less than $48,340 ($53,930 married filing jointly) with three or more qualifying children, $44,007 ($50,597 married filing jointly) with two qualifying children, $39,617 ($45,207 married filing jointly) with one qualifying child or $15,010 ($20,600 married filing jointly) with no qualifying children. The new revision date for the notice is 03/2017.

Mandatory Change to Tennessee Unemployment Insurance

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development has updated their Unemployment Insurance notice. The website used to file for unemployment benefits has changed. In addition, the section on “Partial Unemployment” has been removed.

The revision date of the notice is now 3/17.

Recommended Change for Federal Contractors – Paid Transparency

12/14/2016 – The office of Federal Compliance Programs (OFCCP) has updated the Pay Transparency Nondiscrimination Provision notice. The clause reference has been changed to 41CFR60-I.35(c).

Mandatory Change to Federal Contractor’s Poster

Minimum Wage

The United States Wage and Hour Division has updated the Minimum Wage notice for Federal Contractors. Beginning January 1, 2017 through December 31, 2017 the minimum wage for Federal Contractors will be $10.20.

Effective Date:  1/1/2017

Paid Sick Leave

The United States Wage and Hour Division has released the Paid Sick Leave notice for Federal Contractors. On September 30, 2016, the Department of Labor published a final rule to implement Executive Order 13706, Establishing Paid Sick Leave for Federal Contractors. The Executive Order requires parties that enter into covered contracts with the Federal Government to provide covered employees with up to 7 days of paid sick leave annually, including paid leave allowing for family care. The final rule describes the categories of contracts and employees covered by the Executive Order; the rules and restrictions regarding the accrual and use of paid sick leave; the obligations of contracting agencies, the Department of Labor, and covered Federal contractors under the Order; and the remedies and enforcement procedures to implement the Order’s requirements.

Recommended Change to Washington’s Unemployment Benefits Notice

The Washington Employment Security Department has updated the Unemployment Benefits notice to remove the restrictions on making an online application for benefits. The URL for the Worksource free resource for job hunting has been revised and the revision date has been updated to January, 2017.
