Mandatory Change to Florida’s Minimum Wage Notice

Minimum Wage

The Florida Department of Economic Opportunity has updated the Florida Minimum Wage poster. Beginning January 1, 2017 the minimum wage will increase to $8.10 per hour for non-tipped employees and $5.08 per hour for tipped employees.

Effective Date: 1/1/2017

Mandatory Change to Texas Unemployment and Payday Notice

Unemployment and Payday Notice

The Texas Workforce Commission has updated the Texas Unemployment and Payday Notice. A new phone number to report suspected fraud, waster or abuse of the unemployment program has been added to the notice. Lastly, the revision date has been updated to (0916).

Mandatory Change to Delaware’s Discrimination Notice

Discrimination

The Delaware Division of Industrial Affairs has updated the Department of Labor notice. The length of time to file for Charge of Discrimination has increased to 300 days and Blue Hen Corporate Center has been added as an office to receive additional information. Lastly, the revision date has been updated to 10/3/2016.

Mandatory Change to Maryland’s Equal Pay for Equal Work

Equal Pay for Equal Work

The Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation has updated the Equal Pay for Equal Work notice. Gender Identity has been given a definition and is now considered a protected class for the Labor and Employment Article Title 3, Subtitle 3. The definition for “less favorable employment opportunities” has been expanded along with the sections regarding Effect of Requirement, Copies and Posting of Subtitle, Subsection Action by Employee, and the Subsection Limitations Period. A new section for what an employer is excluded from doing has been added to the notice along with a new section regarding Enforcement. Lastly, the revision date of the notice is 9/2016.

Mandatory Change to Ohio’s Minimum Wage Notice

Minimum Wage

The Ohio Department of Commerce Division of Industrial Compliance has updated the Minimum Wage notice. Beginning January 1, 2017, the minimum wage will be $8.15. The minimum wage rate for tipped employees will be $4.08. Employers who gross $299,000 shall pay their employees no less than the current federal minimum wage rate. Lastly, the new revision date of the notice is 9/30/2016.

Effective Date: 1/1/2017

New Mandatory Earned Sick and Safe Leave Poster for Montgomery County, Maryland

Earned Sick and Safe Leave Law

The Montgomery County Office of Human Rights has released the Earned Sick and Safe Leave Law notice effective October 1, 2016. The new notice explains how earned sick leave is accrued for employees and what is required for employers with fewer than 5 employees and employers with 5 or more employees. Lastly, permitted uses of earned sick leave is described within the notice.

Mandatory Change to Virginia’s Job Safety and Health Protection

Job Safety and Health Protection

The Virginia Department of Labor and Industry has updated the Virginia Job Safety and Health Protection notice. The Discrimination section of the notice has been revised to reflect that it is illegal for an employer to retaliate against an employee for raising a safety or health concern with the employer or VOSH, or reporting a work-related injury or illness is illegal.
