Washington’s Mandatory Change to Safety and Health Law Posting

The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries has updated their Job Safety and Health Law notice. Information regarding reporting guidelines to the Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) have been updated . Any work-related non-hospitalized amputation or loss of an eye must be reported within 24 hours to DOSH. Additionally, employees may now request an L&I inspection and take part in the inspection without the consequence of loss of wages or benefits. Finally, the format of the posting has been updated along with a new publication date.

Tennessee’s Mandatory Change to Workers’ Compensation and Recommended Change to the Wage Regulation Act

Workers’ Compensation (Mandatory Change)

The Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation has updated their Workers’ Compensation notice. Content regarding knowledge if an employer is subject to the workers’ compensation law has been removed. Specifics related to the physician panel the employer provides have been removed including the requirement of 3 or more reputable physicians, surgeons, chiropractors or specialty practice groups within a 100 mile radius of the employee’s community and the selection of those listed groups by the employee. Finally the name of the department for workers’ compensation for Tennessee has been renamed and the web addresses for the “Agreement Between Employer/Employee Choice of Physician” form and the Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation have been updated.

Wage Regulation Act (Recommended Change)

The Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development has updated their Wage Regulation Act notice. The phone numbers and web address for the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development Labor Standards Unit have been updated. Finally, an authorization logo has been added for the notice.

Mandatory Change to Michigan’s Safety and Health Notice

The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration has updated their Safety and Health Protection on the Job notice. Employers are now required to notify the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs within 24 hours of all work-related inpatient hospitalizations, amputations and losses of an eye. These notifications may now be made through the new MIOSHA Injuries and Illness Reporting number provided on the updated notice. Furthermore, the Consultation and Training Assistance number and the address for the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs have been revised. Lastly, an email address has been added as an additional resource for contact information.

Mandatory Change to Indiana’s Teen Work Hour Restrictions

The Indiana Department of Labor Bureau of Child Labor has updated their Child Labor posting. Sixteen year-olds can now work until 11:00 p.m. on nights followed by a school day with parental permission. Seventeen year-olds no longer have a restricted end time on days not followed by a school day. Documentation for sixteen and seventeen year-olds who have graduated or withdrawn from high school that work unlimited hours must have proper documentation of this eligibility in their personnel files. Lastly, the posting reflects a new format, a fax number for the Bureau of Child Labor and the addition of the Indiana Seal and the Indiana Department of Labor logo.

Recommended Change to Alaska’s Unemployment Insurance Notice to Employees

The Alaska Department of Labor and Workforce Development has updated their Unemployment Insurance posting to reflect the “Division of Employment and Training Services” as the new name for the department that covers the program in Alaska. Additionally, the posting has an updated logo and revision date of June 2015.
