This plan provides guidelines for isolating or removing a bloodborne pathogens hazard from the work environment. The term bloodborne pathogens means pathogenic microorganisms that are present in human blood and can cause disease in humans. These pathogens include, but are not limited to, hepatitis B virus [HBV] and human immunodeficiency virus [HIV]. Procedures for work practice controls are provided to eliminate or minimize employee exposure. The Bloodborne Pathogens Plan provides material for continuing employee bloodborne pathogens safety training.
