Emergency Eyewash treatment using this OSHA Compliant Portable Eye Wash Station

The Emergency Eye Wash Station provides effective and immediate first aid eye irrigation, which is critical to helping people with eye injuries. The Portable Emergency Eye Wash Station can be wall mounted or is portable for easy access. The OSHA Compliant Emergency Eyewash Sation is an effective first aid treatment for both acid and alkali burns, providing immediate emergency eyecare. The backboard is sized to be easily located near hazardous environments to keep eyewash near areas of potential eye injury and includes easy to follow instructions for immediate emergency first aid. The two 16oz Emergency Eyewash Station bottles are filled with a buffered isotonic solution with pH similar to human tears. Maintenance instructions for the bottles are included with each station. An Emergency Eyewash Station provides safe emergency eyecare first aid until the injured person can be helped to a primary Emergency Eye Wash Station.

Emergency Eyewash Stations - Who needs to provide them?

Emergency eye wash stations must be situated in working environments were employees may be exposed to harmful chemicals. Accidents do happen, and immediate access to emergency eye wash stations at time of exposure is critical in preventing eye injury. Eye wash stations are designed to immediately flush contaminants out of the eyes after exposure. Emergency Eyewash station should be located in high-risk areas, no more than 25 feet (10 seconds) from areas where acids or other corrosive materials are in use. This advice is enforced by OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.151:

Paragraph (c) of OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.151
"Where the eyes or body of any person may be exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body shall be provided within the work area for immediate emergency use".
