  • Injury and Illness Prevention Program Safety and Health Plan
  • Injury and Illness Prevention Program Workplace Security Safety Plan
  • Injury and Illness Prevention Program Safety and Health Forms
1. Open up your OSHA Safety & Health Forms document. Read the index page to find applicable forms. Assign an employee responsibility (Pg 4) for implementation of your safety program.
2. Set up a Safety Committee (Pg 8-10).
3. Make a list from 1-10 (in order of importance) of the safety issues you want to address with employees that impact your business.
4. Open up your Injury and Illness Prevention Program Safety and Health Plan. Read the index page to identify areas you want to address. Go to those sections and read the standards and regulations to understand both the employer and employee responsibilities.
5. Go to the Self Audit questions in the IIPP (Pg 74-76) and complete a self audit. If you do not know the answer to a question, refer back to the plan that explains the suggested corrective measures.
6. Create a one or two page policy and procedure on how you are addressing the potential safety issue and what specific steps you are having employees take to prevent an accident.
7. Set up a safety meeting to discuss safety issues. Print applicable pages from your safety plan plus your specific policies and procedures to use as safety topics and training materials during your meeting.
8. Have employees sign safety training documentation on the training covered during your safety meeting (Pg 16-19). Remember to use any applicable forms found in your OSHA Safety & Health Forms document.
9. Follow the same procedure for any of the additional safety plans you have received that apply to the safety issues that have been identified on the top ten list.
10. Remember that safety is an ongoing process and that it’s up to the safety committee to identify what exposure risks the business faces on a daily basis. The safety plans are to be used as a resource to follow and implement OSHA accepted government guidelines, regulations and standards.
